Dhammapada

April 23, 2010

The Dhammapada is a collection of short verses of Buddha’s teachings, the second book of the Khuddaka Nikaya of the Suttanta Pitaka in the Tipitaka. The Tipitaka being the “Three Baskets” collection of Buddha’s teachings organized into the Sutta, Vinaya, and Abhidhamma.

Thanks to the work of translators we can now study the Dhammapada in Khmer, English, and Pali. Here is the Dhammapada translated by Ven. Suy Sovann into Khmer and English. Also it is available in Pali written in Roman script.

The Pali is provided so that if you desire, you can examine and learn from the original and common language from 2500 years ago, used by Buddha for teaching the Dhamma.
